Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre Inc (CTNC Inc) is a non-profit organisation that is managed by a committee of enthusiastic, community minded people.

The organisation endeavours to identify, promote and develop the interests and needs of the Charters Towers Community.

CTNC Inc's service hub is the Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre, which provides an attractive, comfortable, non-judgmental environment where anyone can come to obtain information, referral services, resources and support.

Management Committee

The Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre is run by a volunteer Management Committee whose role is to oversee policy and to monitor and adhere to the financial, funding and legislative accountabilities of the organisation.

The Management Committee has the general control and management of the administration of the affairs, property and funds of the Association and engage skilled staff to administer the day-to-day operations of each program.

Brief History

The Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre Inc began its life in 1986 when a group of concerned citizens came together to address issues around access to low cost housing.

The group became the Charters Towers Community Welfare Association (CTCWA) and incorporated in July 1987.

In 2000 CTCWA changed its name to the Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre Inc to better reflect its goals.

Geographic Coverage

The Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre delivers services primarily to the Charters Towers area. Some programs also take in the Dalrymple, Flinders and Richmond Shires.

Who Can Use the Centre

CTNC Inc has a commitment to providing a welcoming environment and to promoting ease of access for individuals and the community as a whole, through the incorporation of access and equity principles in all facets of the organisation’s programs and operations.

Hire of Facilities

The Neighbourhood Centre has rooms, equipment and games for hire (subject to availability). Contact our staff during office hours for more information.

The Neighbourhood Centre and its programs are based at 3 Powell Lane, Charters Towers.
